A deadly conflict between Thailand and Cambodia over the last ten years reached a turning point on July 27, 2025, when US President Donald Trump announced that both countries started immediate ceasefire talks after his direct diplomatic intervention. Decades of tension manifested into a three-day military confrontation between the Southeast Asian neighbors that started on July 24, leading to the most severe conflict between the two since 2008.
